BEING A PERFECT GENTLEMAN

Holla! Gosh! I have been staring at my empty sheet of paper for hours now, thinking of what to grace your sight and brains with. Still the creative juices’ didn’t flow, until I thought; “nothing and no one is perfect”. I assure you that not finding my mojo isn’t driving me crazy. The connection between my thought and the fashion world is that, no matter how well we place the awesome pieces together, it can never be perfect – but we can try to make it seem that way.
The men’s fashion seems to be underrated; this is why I am here to take away your ignorance. I am your gene *winks*. Ladies feel free to go through this article and beat your man into shape; not literally beat him to a pulp though #LOL (Laugh Out Loud).

First off, here are some tips for mind reconstruction:
1.      KEEP IT SIMPLE: Most guys think that keeping it simple means wearing loose jeans and an oversized shirt, or worse; wearing more than three pieces of jewellery or colours. I personally think keeping it simple involves a slightly fitted pair of dark jeans, a light dress shirt, a simple but serious belt and a watch as an accessory. The shoes should make a statement and be simple at the same time.
2.      FIT IS KING: An important improvement in your style includes putting on things that fit impeccably. Guys stop wearing clothes that are too large. Yes! You! It is hazardous. For those dudes who don’t like clothes that seem too tight, your outfit can actually appear fitted without hugging your body, so calm down. According to Kinowaer Bible; “bad fit is an epidemic”.
3.      STAY A NOTCH ABOVE: Don’t overdo it to a fault, but dare to take some risks. It’s always better to be a little bit overdressed than underdressed in any setting. But make sure you’re not better dressed than someone who is more important in a certain setting, like your boss.
4.      DISREGARD TRENDS: Beware of buying something just because it’s “in” right now – it could be really dangerous. Stick with what you like. It is better to learn to build a versatile and timeless wardrobe first – then bring in your own twists with some of the new fashion.
5.      CONTINUALLY CULTIVATE YOUR IMAGE AND ASK FOR REAL FEEDBACK: Cultivate your fashion sense by investing more time and money into your image. Your style is a huge mode of communication. Also, ask anyone and everyone you trust to tell you the truth about your style. Most of your friends and family aren’t going to go out of their way to tell you what looks bad. But I will; I’ll go as far as sticking it in your face with a little lecture *winks*.

ADDING A FEW CLOTHES AND ACCESSORIES TO YOUR FASHION ARSENAL To be quite frank with the dudes, it’s just a few key items that separate the sharply dressed man from the average Joe. These are some things a guy must have in his fashion arsenal.
  1.      SUIT: Welcome to the world of being a grown up adult male. A three-piece suit is ideal, but starts with matching pants and jacket if you don’t already own them. Find something that properly fits your frame, or get it tailored to fit your frame, or get it tailored to fit you well. Don’t forget that a suit without a tie is like eba without soup. It just doesn’t work. You should have a tie for every suit you own, plus a few extra so you can have multiple options. I prefer thin black ties because they’re sleek, fashion-forward, and can be worn formally or casually. Both I and www.askmen.com agree on this.
2.      DRESS SHOES: if you want to tell if a guy is a sharp dresser, look at his shoes. Nothing ruins an outfit like a busted old pair of sneakers or mud-covered work boots. A bad pair of shoes could make the difference between landing that promotion and getting that second date. Invest in some quality dress shoes. A pair of classic black leather brogues are versatile enough to be worn almost anywhere.
3.      DARK JEANS: Dark jeans are an important staple of any man’s closet. They can dress up an overly casual outfit or dress down an overly formal one. Your perfect pair of dark jeans may come with a significant price tag but well-made denim can literally last for decades, so the investment will keep you looking sharp for years to come.
4.      HAIR PRODUCT/ SHAVING KIT: Hair product is a quick and simple way to sharpen up your look. If your hair is unruly, a little bit of product can help tame your hair into something presentable. A lot of guys rush through shaving and don’t properly exfoliate before or moisturize afterwards. Not only does that make your skin feel worse, it makes it looks worse as well. Don’t let the rest of your style suffer because of a bad hair day and for Pete’s sake, take those bushes off your face, or at least trim them.
  5.      A WATCH: A watch is generally small and unobtrusive, serves a practical purpose, requires little or no maintenance and adds a hint of sophistication to any outfit. Before getting a watch it is important to consider whether you want digital or analogue, the size of clock face you want, and what type of material you prefer for the wrist strap. It is better to get a one that can fit into your wardrobe without being too flashy or too simple.
6.      WALLET/ PHONE CASE/ SUNGLASSES: Sticking to the classics; a standard, good quality phone case and a simple leather wallet will do the trick as these will protect both your cash and phone. Again, no wardrobe is complete without a cool pair of shade. Cheap shade doesn’t protect you from UV, spend some money on a quality sunglass that suits your face and which you can wear season after season. A nice pair of shades is a mandatory part of any stylish guy’s closet.   ·
