MOTHER'S DAY

Mother, Teacher & Friend

From several months of carrying me around
To labouring, delivering & having me around
To pacifying & playing with me when I was sad & lonely
To caring for me & feeding me when I was sick hungry
You taught me my first words & watched me take my first steps
Always available when I'm in need of a great help
My first playmate, my first friend
My first love, whose love has no end
You taught me to believe in nobody but myself
You taught me that I'll need friends, but I should always rely on myself
You taught me to be determined and go for my dreams
You taught me that life could offer more than it seems
You taught me to see life as a staircase & take one step at a time
You taught me that the fastest elevators in life usually involve crimes
You told me I was special; that I was made for great things
You said nobody can stop me that they can only delay things
You taught me my emotions can be my strength & also my weakness
You taught me to believe in God, He has no weakness
Sometimes we argue & disagree cause I think I'm mature
But the end results prove me to still be an amateur
Despite my stubbornness, you cater for my every need
And all you ever ask for in return is good deeds
I'm just so thankful that I got to call you, "Mother"
A title that in my next life, I'd still wish to call you, not another

_Dedicated to all mothers
