THOUGHTS ON #EndSars PROTEST

‘Generation Z’, the generation I’m proud to be a part of.

This entrepreneurial generation

This independent generation

This generation who knows the scores

This generation who embrace change

This generation who wants their voices heard. I’m proud to be a part of such a generation.

Ever since it’s inception in late 1992, the dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad #EndSars has committed unpardonable atrocities without remorse and #NigerianYouths have had it. I smile when I see this generation standing up for their right and exercising it in demanding change.

Now, they say they have dissolved SARS and replaced it with SWAT⁉️ Does changing a thief’s name from ‘James’ to ‘Paul’ stop him from being a thief

While these protests are ongoing, the @NigerianPoliceForce has failed to keep its officers assigned to these protest areas, in line. The results being the gory deaths, harassment, and brutalization of our ‘should be’ leaders of today.

 The saddest part of all this, is the emotional effects of these traumatic experiences. Some youths have had to recall traumatic experiences with #EndSars while some have been thrown off emotionally by the bloody parts of these protests, and others are psychologically down just by knowing the details of these on-going protests.

As much as I would have preferred walking the streets with the rest of the youths, I’m privileged to counsel and hold therapy sessions for these emotionally traumatized youths.

I’ve been a Teenage/ Youth Counsellor and Therapist for a few years now and I have never experienced the current influx of calls and requests to schedule sessions, both online and offline. I’ve been giving these sessions for free and will continue, this way I get to be full part of this ongoing clamor for outstanding change.

What is your contribution to the cause?

P.S: Subsequently, I’ll be posting on;
